Höfði House, Reykjavik

Hofdi House, Reykjavik, Iceland

Höfði is a house in Borgartún in Reykjavik built in 1909, the French consul Jean-Paul Brillouin was originally based there. Later, Einar Benediktsson, the poet, owned the house for some time and lived in it with his family. In 2015, the statue of Einar by Ásmund Sveinsson , who had been standing at Miklatún , was moved to Höfði and installed east of the house. Iceland meeting between Ronald Reagan and Mikhail Gorbachev took place in 1986. The flag of the United States and the flag of the Soviet Union hanging until the memory of the meeting.
